Project Background
With the development of modern power industry towards intelligence, transformers, as important main equipment in the transmission network, are also trending towards intelligence. Currently, the main monitoring devices configured on transformers basically have online detection and control functions, while the level of intelligence of transformers' desiccators is still relatively lagging. The commonly used desiccators are basically composed of a silica gel box and an oil cup, where the silica gel in the box is used to remove moisture from the air, and the oil cup is used to exclude dust and impurities from the air. This design of desiccators requires considerable maintenance work, mainly including the replacement of silica gel and cleaning of the oil cup; on the other hand, if the desiccator cannot be maintained in a timely manner, it can lead to blockage of the breathing channel, which in turn can cause malfunctions of gas protection devices, pressure relief valves, false oil levels, and other issues.
Project Overview
The ITB series intelligent maintenance-free desiccator consists of a silica gel chamber, heating device, filtering device, and intelligent controller.Moist air enters the interior of the device through the metal filter screen at the bottom of the ITB maintenance-free desiccator, which can filter dust, sand, and other particles from the air. The filtered air passes through the silica gel chamber in the desiccator for dehydration, and the dehumidified air enters the transformer through the pipeline in the oil cushion.
The ITB intelligent maintenance-free desiccator is equipped with a temperature and humidity sensor to measure the humidity of the air entering the transformer. When the measured humidity exceeds the set value and the transformer is in a breathing state, the heating element installed in the drying chamber will automatically dry the silica gel particles. The water vapor generated during the drying process of the silica gel condenses on the glass outer wall of the maintenance-free desiccator, and the condensed water is discharged through the metal filter screen, which also helps to clean the metal filter screen.
The ITB intelligent maintenance-free desiccator can upload the device's working status and the temperature and humidity data of the transformer's breathing pipeline to the background monitoring system via communication protocol, enabling real-time monitoring, data storage, analysis, and mining functions.
